Pop Star For a Week (Vocalists & Dancers, ages 6-9 & 10-14)

Students spend a week living their dream of being a Pop Star! Learn to sing today's hit music, and dance the latest video-inspired choreography. This fun camp includes our popular Adventures in Singing class (voice technique, sight reading and stage performance), group voice and dance instruction, sectional rehearsals, interactive games, music-related craft and more! Week 1: Monday, July 5, 2010 - Friday, July 9, 2010, 10:00am - 3:00pm (final performance on Friday, July 9th at 3:00pm)

Tuition:

$595 for one week or $1,071 for two weeks (includes a 10% multi-week discount)

Extended Care:

9:00am to 10:00am (includes small healthy snack and a fun outdoor activity on the green belt) $50/week

8:00am to 10:00am (includes additional craft time, healthy snack and a fun outdoor activity on the green belt) $100/week

Boot Camp for Rock Stars and Divas (ages 10-13 & 14-18)

This a fun, music immersion experience where students are able to make a great amount of progress in just five days. Classes include ear training, sight reading, music theory, improvisation, sectional rehearsals, band rehearsals and more. The camp will culminate with an unforgettable concert at a local rock club for family and friends!

Students must be approved for this class before registering with a Coast Music Conservatory recommendation or an audition.

Five-Day Jazz Intensive (ages 10-15 & 16-adult)

This is an immersion experience for students who are passionate about jazz. Classes include harmonic ear training and analysis, improvisation, sectional rehearsals, band rehearsals and more. The camp will culminate with an unforgettable concert for family and friends on the final day.

Students must be approved for this class before registering with a Coast Music Conservatory recommendation or an audition.

Monday, August 2, 2010 - Friday, August 6, 2010

Vocal Performance Intensive (ages 12-14 & 15-adult)

This summer, we are offering a one-week vocal course which will focus on building repertoire and performance skills. Singers will learn how to:

- choose repertoire that best showcases their talent
- build and maintain repertoire efficiently
- create exciting musical arrangements
- prepare sheet music for a pianist and/or rhythm section
- rehearse with instrumentalists
- deliver dynamic and memorable performances

This class is open to vocalist who sing any style of music, and we strongly encourage a lot of variety.

Classes Include: Performance Ear Training, Repertoire Development & Preparation, Style & Improvisation, Movement, "My Gig", and more. Students will participate in one to two Glee-style group songs and they will perform solo repertoire each day. All performances are open to the public.

Students must be approved for this class before registering with a Coast Music Conservatory recommendation or an audition. Singers must be prepared with at least five prepared songs before the intensive begins.

Chamber Music Camp (ages 9-13 & 14-18)

This is an immersion experience for instrumentalists and vocalists who are passionate about classical music. Students will be placed into a small chamber group according to their ages and ablities. Participants will enjoy instruction in ear training, sight reading, harmonic analysis and music appreciation (listening), and each day will include two to three hours of rehearsals. The camp will culminate with an unforgettable concert for family and friends on the final day.

Jam Camp (ages 12-15 & 16-adult)

This one-of-a-kind program gives students the opportunity to tailor-make their own summer music program over a week or two dedicated to spontaneity and creativity. We provide the excellent, versatile staff, and students will choose two ensembles to work in throughout the week. Choices include Chamber Ensembles, Rock Bands, Jazz/Blues Bands and Vocal Ensembles. Students will also be able to choose the courses they want to take including Rhythm Section Arranging, Recording with Garage Band, Song Writing, Ear Traning/Sight Reading, Music Theory, Music Promotion and more. This 5-day experience includes workshops taught by LA's first call musicians.
